Jane Green: The Other Woman

Finally, I've finished the book, as of Dec 31, 2006.

I had the book on my bookshelf collecting dust for many months and I seriously didn't have the time to come by and finish what I left. What made me stopped reading halfway was because Ellie Black, the main character of the novel, was getting rather irritating and disrespectful to her mother-in-law. Well, her mother-in-law can be overbearing but Ellie was just blowing out of proportion. Other people in the Coopers were nice to her too but she just doesn't see it.

Anyway, the ending of the book made me shed some tears. I closed the book with a warm feeling and I am so glad at how Green ended the book. All's well, ends well.

Lauren Weisberger : Everyone Worth Knowing

When I was out with Isaac on Monday, he told me Lauren Weisberger released a new book and I was so excited about it. From the author of The Devil Wears Prada, this is the second book written by Lauren Weisberger. She did a very good job for The Devil Wears Prada and a movie is in the making based on it.

I haven't read Everyone Worth Knowing yet but I believe it would be good. I wasn't very happy when I picked up the book from Kinokuniya and found that the cover is in pink. I'm just not in the mood of pink at the moment.

The book, Everyone Worth Knowing by Laura Weisberger was incredibly written and really page-turner. I must say, this book is really better than The Devil Wears Prada.

To me, it was a great book for me to get me into thinking of my life in general. It's every young female adult's dream of attaining a glamorous career but will she be psychologically and physically ready? Will the career turn out to become life crushing because every glamorous career comes with unrealistic demandings?

Of course, to be on top of the game, there are other aspects in life that have to be sacrificed.

Bette Robinson, the leading character of Everyone Worth Knowing, was getting sick with her boring and slaving job. Unlikely and impulsively, she quit her job and then her famous columnist uncle helped her to land a position in a top PR firm, where her responsibilities were planning launches and parties and making appearances at New York's top clubs. Her new glamorous job landed her new bunch of friends of famous socialites and celebrities, and also regularly on a notorious gossip column. Was she able to take the pressure of coke-addict colleagues, work-appearance-publicity requirement? Will she fall in love with a super gorgeous British guy or one of the clubs' bouncers? Does her new glamorous job make her happy?

Sometimes, you can't have everything. Just ask yourself who you really are and what you really want. One or the other, there will certainly be sacrifices in order to make life work for you in the end.

Many cool partying friends or one great reliable best friend?

A glamorous unstable job that interferes and strips away your personal life or a normal-exciting job that still allows you to have life with your family, friends and yourself?

To be in a relationship with a famous exciting guy who cuddles up with any woman in the party or in a relationship with an ordinary guy who worships you?

I wouldn't want to be a spoiler here but it would be great for everyone interested in this book to purchase and read it themselves. You'll learn a thing or two from Weisberger.

I found this book to be rather comforting, as it is a good-feel kind of book. To me, the message is clear.

Cecelia Ahern : P.S. I Love You

I've completed this book for quite awhile already but didn't have the time to put it in. This book is fantastic. Cecelia Ahern is a very good writer and absolutely fantastic at capturing emotions and expressions into words. It's a heartwarming book even though in the beginning, I was moved to tears by the main character's suffering of losing someone she loves.

A MUST READ!

Finished reading this book yesterday.

The story almost to the ending, was rather dark.

And kind of depressing.

However, with this kind of ending, I am anticipating for the next book.

Good buy!
